Everything procurement heads, project managers, and marketing teams ask before commissioning digital printing from IBS.
What is digital printing and how is it different from offset?+
Digital printing prints directly from a digital file with no plate-making, which makes short runs, reprints, and variable-data jobs fast and economical. Offset printing uses plates and is more economical for long runs. IBS runs both in-house, so we match the process to the job — digital for short runs, reprints, urgent deadlines, and personalised work; offset for long economical runs. Both are colour- managed against the same reference, so a digital pilot and an offset bulk run match.
Is there a minimum order quantity for digital printing?+
No. Digital printing has no plate cost and no minimum run, so we can print a single prototype, a box of 50 business cards, or a few thousand brochures economically. This is the main advantage of digital over offset for short-quantity and on-demand work. For long economical runs, our offset four-colour printing line is the better-value route, and we will advise which process suits your quantity.
How fast can IBS turn around a digital print job?+
Standard-substrate jobs can move same-day for urgent requirements. Colour-critical work with hard-proof sign-off, multi-finish jobs, and large-volume runs take longer — typically one to a few days, scaling with quantity and finishing. We confirm a specific turnaround at the quotation stage once the substrate, finish, and quantity are known.
What substrates and materials can IBS print on?+
Paper and board (coated, uncoated, textured, various GSMs), self- adhesive vinyl, flex and banner media, backlit film, canvas, fabric, and rigid substrates including acrylic, foam board, sunboard, MDF, aluminium composite, and glass (via UV flatbed). If you have a specific substrate requirement, we will confirm suitability and the right ink system at the brief stage.
Does IBS offer large-format and wide-format printing?+
Yes. Large-format and wide-format printing — banners, hoardings, building wraps, backdrops, and large retail displays up to several metres wide — is part of the IBS digital printing capability, and we run a dedicated wide-format printing line for large-scale, format- specific programmes. We print on flex, vinyl, fabric, and mesh with eco-solvent, UV-cured, or latex inks for indoor and outdoor durability.
What is UV flatbed printing and when is it used?+
UV flatbed printing prints directly onto rigid substrates — acrylic, foam board, sunboard, MDF, aluminium composite, glass, and tile — with UV-cured inks that bond to the surface and cure instantly. It is used for premium directional signage, photo panels, exhibition hardware, and décor where the print needs to be on the material itself rather than on an applied vinyl, giving a cleaner finish and faster turnaround than vinyl-on-board.
Can IBS do variable-data and personalised printing?+
Yes — variable-data printing is a core digital capability. We change text, images, or codes on each printed piece within one run: personalised mailers (name, address, offer), sequential numbering (tickets, coupons, certificates, asset tags), unique QR and barcodes, and version-controlled collateral for multi-branch or multi-city campaigns. This is a digital-only capability that most print suppliers in India don't run in-house.
How does IBS ensure colour accuracy and brand-colour matching?+
We run an ICC colour-managed workflow with calibrated profiles per substrate and ink set, and we match to Pantone (PMS) references with achievable-gamut guidance flagged at proofing. Colour references are held on file for consistent reprints. For colour-critical work, a soft proof and a hard-copy proof are signed off before production. This keeps brand colours consistent across runs, substrates, and reprints.
What file formats and resolution does IBS need for printing?+
Print-ready PDF is preferred, with vector source (AI, EPS) for logos and type, and high-resolution images (typically 150–300 DPI at final size for sheet-fed; scaled appropriately for large-format viewing distance). Files should include bleed and trim marks, be in CMYK colour mode, and have fonts embedded or outlined. If your files aren't print-ready, we will flag what's needed at prepress or scope artwork support.
What finishing options does IBS offer?+
In-house finishing includes lamination (gloss, matte, anti-scuff, UV-stable outdoor), spot UV, foiling, embossing, die-cutting, creasing, perforation, mounting, binding (saddle-stitch and perfect-bind), and display-hardware assembly. Finishing in-house means a single quality standard and no third-party finishing queue or quality variance.
Does the price include GST?+
GST is shown on a separate line in every IBS invoice at the applicable rate per the prevailing GST Council notification — not bundled into the line-item price. Tax invoices and tax certificates are issued for every billing event. Input tax credit availability — where applicable to your business — applies as standard.
What is the warranty on digital print work?+
IBS guarantees defect-free print, colour-to-approved-proof, and finishing quality on dispatch, and will reprint any workmanship defect. Durability warranty is scaled by media and application — indoor collateral, outdoor large-format, and applied surface graphics each carry a realistic durability expectation stated at quotation, with UV-stable laminates specified for extended outdoor life.
Can IBS handle multi-city and multi-branch print rollouts?+
Yes. Multi-city, multi-branch print rollouts — with centralised brand standards, version control by branch or city, and sequenced dispatch — are routine engagements, particularly for retail chains, BFSI brands, and F&B groups. Variable-data printing handles per-branch versioning in a single coordinated run, and colour references on file keep every site consistent.
Can IBS print on demand and store our artwork for reorders?+
Yes. We retain approved artwork and colour references on file, so reorders and top-ups are fast and matched to the original. This suits stationery, recurring collateral, and any print that branches or departments reorder regularly without wanting to re-supply files each time.
Does IBS provide design and artwork support, or only printing?+
Both. If you supply print-ready files, we print from them. If you need artwork created or adapted, design support is a separate scope itemised in the quotation. We will always tell you up front whether your files are print-ready or need prepress work, so there are no surprises at production.
What is the difference between digital printing and screen printing?+
Digital printing prints directly from a file with no screens or plates, suiting full-colour, photographic, variable-data, and short-run work. Screen printing pushes ink through a mesh stencil per colour, suiting large flat-colour runs, speciality inks, and certain substrates and textiles. For commercial collateral, signage graphics, and variable- data work, digital is the right process; IBS will advise where another process suits your job better.
Can IBS print backlit and illuminated display graphics?+
Yes. Backlit digital printing uses high-density translucent media tuned for transmitted light — lightbox film, duratrans, illuminated sign faces, and backlit menu boards. Because backlit media reads differently when lit from behind, ink density and colour are calibrated for the lit result. Backlit prints pair with our in-house glow and LED signage lines where a complete illuminated fixture is required.
Can IBS print vinyl wall, floor, window, and vehicle graphics?+
Yes. We print self-adhesive vinyl for wall graphics, floor decals, window and one-way-vision graphics, frosted-glass film, and vehicle wraps on Avery Dennison, ORACAL, or 3M printable vinyl with eco-solvent or UV-cured inks and protective lamination. In-house installation crews handle bubble-free application on glass, textured walls, and floors. For dedicated vinyl and flex programmes, see our vinyl & flex printing line.
Do you deliver outside Mumbai?+
Yes. IBS delivers digital print pan-India, with concentration in the Mumbai-Pune corridor. Finished collateral is packed and dispatched; for surface graphics, display installations, and large-format applications, in-house crews travel to site. Multi-city rollouts are coordinated from our Mumbai facility with sequenced dispatch to each location.
What quantity should I print digitally versus offset?+
As a general guide, digital is more economical for short runs — prototypes, reorders, and quantities up to a few thousand, depending on the size and substrate — and for any variable-data or fast-turnaround job. Offset becomes more economical as quantity rises into the thousands and tens of thousands of identical pieces. Because IBS runs both, we will recommend the process that gives you the best value for your specific quantity and timeline.
Can IBS match a reprint to print we did with another supplier?+
We can colour-match to a supplied physical sample as closely as the print gamut allows, and we will flag at proofing where an exact match isn't achievable in the chosen process or substrate. Once you approve our proof, that becomes the reference we hold on file for all future reprints, so subsequent runs stay consistent.
How do I get a digital printing quote from IBS?+
Share what you need printed — item, quantity, substrate or finish preference, format, and target date — through the enquiry form, by phone, or by email, and attach artwork if you have it. We will confirm the spec, flag any file requirements, and provide an itemised quotation. Initial consultation and quotation are free of charge and without obligation.
