Brief, design intent, and site survey
The engagement starts with a brief intake covering brand standards, signage type, quantity, sites, target date, and any constraints (sight-lines, structural mounting points, electrical access, municipal approval status). For storefront and facade installations, the IBS project lead and a fabrication coordinator visit the site to capture mounting context, electrical access, and structural conditions. Output: written observation report, preliminary design direction, and initial spec range. This visit is free of charge.
Design, mockups, and brand approval
Design moves from concept → scaled rendering → physical mockup where the engagement complexity warrants it. Mockups are particularly valuable for halo-lit and large-format installations where the visual outcome depends on installation context. Brand approval cycles with your marketing or brand team are coordinated through the IBS project lead, single point of contact, no scope-vs-design ambiguity. Final approved design and brand standards lock the spec inputs to the GFC drawings.
GFC drawings, BOQ, and electrical spec
GFC (Good for Construction / Good for Fabrication) drawings detail every dimension, every material, every mounting point, every electrical connection. The accompanying BOQ itemises LED module brand and model, power supply rating, acrylic specification, aluminium gauge, mounting hardware, and accessory items. Electrical specification covers panel-level surge protection, transformer rating, and earthing requirements per CEA regulations. The drawing register becomes the contractual reference for fabrication, installation, and any future service or warranty interpretation.
Factory fabrication in Mumbai
Fabrication happens in the IBS Mumbai facility: design transferred to CNC-cutting (for acrylic and aluminium), assembly (for channel letters and dimensional builds), electrical (LED module mounting, wiring, power-supply integration), and finishing (paint, lamination, or polish per BOQ). Multi-unit rollouts run in batches with identical-spec discipline. Quality-control checks at fabrication, assembly, and pre-dispatch, every sign board photographed for the project record before leaving the factory.
Pre-installation QC and electrical testing
Every LED sign board is electrically tested at the factory before dispatch, module-level illumination check, power-supply load test, surge-protection verification, and insulation resistance test. Test certificates are issued for each unit. This catches manufacturing defects in the factory rather than at the customer's site, where rework is costly and timeline-sensitive.
Site installation
Installation is executed by in-house IBS crews: not job-work labour. For most engagements, a 2–3 person crew installs in 1–2 working days per site (multi-site rollouts run in parallel crews). Structural mounting (drill anchors into RCC, aluminium frame fabrication on-site where required, custom brackets), electrical connection (to the building's signage circuit, with surge protection at the panel), and final positioning and alignment. Site work permits and gate-pass coordination handled in advance.
Commissioning and brand approval walk-through
Final commissioning includes night-time illumination check (most LED signage is judged on night appearance, not daytime), brand-colour verification (LED colour temperature against brand standard), edge-and-mounting inspection, and a walk-through with the client or your brand team for sign-off. Photo-record of the installed signage forms the project closure document.
Warranty handover and ongoing service
Project handover includes the warranty certificate, manufacturer LED-module warranty documents, electrical test certificates, as-built drawings, and contact information for service.
