Which sectors does IBS deliver branding and fit-outs for?

Seven: aviation and airports, BFSI, healthcare, education, retail and consumer, hospitality, and corporate offices. The scope changes between them far more than the service list suggests. An airport needs BCAS clearance and airside escort, a hospital needs infection-control finishes and services that cannot be shut down, and a 200-branch bank rollout needs identical output from one production run rather than local vendors in each city.

What is BCAS clearance?

BCAS is the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. Its clearance is the security vetting a contractor and its personnel need before working airside inside an active Indian airport terminal. Without it a vendor cannot pass beyond the landside boundary, whatever their capability.

What is a branch rollout?

A branch rollout is a programme applying one brand specification across many locations, typically 50 to 500 sites, inside a fixed window. The difficulty is not any single branch; it is holding colour, material and finish identical across all of them and across several months.

What does NABH-aligned mean?

NABH is the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers. A fit-out aligned to it uses materials, junction details and services layouts that support the infection-control and safety criteria a hospital is assessed against, rather than finishes chosen only for appearance.

By Sector

What changes from one sector to the next

The requirement that actually drives cost and programme in each industry, and what IBS does about it.

Aviation and airports

  • BCAS clearance required for airside work; IBS holds it
  • Escorted access, security passes and night-only working windows
  • Wayfinding to the airport operator’s own signage manual, not a generic standard
  • Fire-retardant material grades on anything inside the terminal envelope
  • Delivered for an Adani Airports property, airside and landside

BFSI: banks, NBFCs and insurers

  • Multi-site rollouts of 50 to 500 branches to one specification
  • Regulator and compliance notices integrated into the branch graphics pack
  • Branch-by-branch access windows, usually outside banking hours
  • ATM lobby, teller and product-panel branding as distinct scopes
  • Delivered for IDFC FIRST Bank , HDFC Life , HSBC, HDFC ERGO, Godrej Finance

Healthcare

  • Infection-control finishes: coved skirting, sealed junctions, washable surfaces
  • Medical-grade MEP, including clean power, isolation and gas line coordination
  • NABH-aligned material and detailing choices
  • Phased work in operating hospitals, ward by ward, without closing the facility
  • Wayfinding designed for patients under stress, not for brand expression

Education

  • Fit-outs delivered inside the vacation window, because the date cannot move
  • NBC 2016 compliance on classrooms, laboratories and circulation
  • Durable finishes specified for high-traffic, high-abuse environments
  • Laboratory services: fume extraction, gas lines, specialist benching
  • Campus signage, wayfinding and institutional brand environments

Retail and consumer

  • Fast-turnaround store fit-outs sequenced against a launch date
  • Mall fit-out guidelines, landlord fascia approval and handover conditions
  • Franchise rollouts where every store must be identical to the brand manual
  • Fascia, window graphics, one-way vision and interior branding as one package
  • Delivered for Reliance Retail, Aditya Birla Retail, Accessorize

Hospitality and corporate

  • Hotel, resort and F&B interiors: civil, MEP, joinery, lighting and FF&E
  • Guest-facing finish quality with back-of-house durability behind it
  • Corporate headquarters where the brand environment is built in, not applied
  • Co-working operators needing repeatable specification across floors and sites
  • Delivered for GroupM, WeWork Mumbai , Canon, EPSON, Sagility

Evaluating

What to ask a contractor in each of these sectors

Questions that separate a vendor who has genuinely worked in your industry from one who has read about it. Worth asking IBS as well.

On credentials

  • Do you hold BCAS clearance, and for which airports have you used it?
  • Name three projects in my sector, with the client and the scope
  • Which parts of this scope do you execute yourself and which do you subcontract?
  • Who is the named project lead, and what else are they running concurrently?
  • Are you already an approved vendor with organisations comparable to mine?

On the programme

  • How will you work without closing my facility, ward, branch or campus?
  • What is the access assumption in your price, and what happens if it changes?
  • Show me the programme working backwards from my occupation date
  • Which activities are on the critical path, and what protects them?
  • How is slippage reported, and how often?

On what you get at the end

  • What documentation is in the closeout pack?
  • What is the defect liability period, in months, and when does it start?
  • Who do I call in month seven, and will they have the drawings?
  • Are spares held against my specification, or bought nearest-match later?
  • For a rollout: how do you prove site 140 matches site 1?

Delivery

What IBS brings to a sector project regardless of industry

The capabilities that do not change between an airport and a school, and that decide whether the sector-specific constraints above can actually be met.

Manufacturing and trades in-house

  • Signage fabrication at the Mumbai facility: laser cutting, powder coating, assembly
  • Furniture manufactured at the Vasai East factory to as-built dimensions
  • In-house civil engineers, MEP coordinators, false ceiling and joinery teams
  • Colour proofed against one approved physical swatch across paint, print and fabrication
  • Factory QC on every unit before dispatch, so defects surface in Mumbai not on site

Compliance and standards

  • BCAS clearance for airside work inside active airport terminals
  • NBC 2016 for general construction and fire; IS 3043 earthing, IS 732 electrical
  • Fire-retardant material grades where the terminal or mall envelope requires them
  • Hydrotesting on plumbing and pressure tests on sprinkler lines before concealment
  • Work permits, HSE plan and site induction agreed with building management up front

Documentation and handover

  • Joint snag walk with your operations team, snags listed, dated and closed
  • As-built drawings issued for every sector project, not just the large ones
  • Commissioning and test records for HVAC, electrical and fire systems
  • Warranty certificates collated with manufacturer pass-throughs in one file
  • For rollouts: as-built photographs of every installed location, so site 140 can be checked against site 1 without a visit
  • A named IBS contact for the defect liability period, holding the original drawings

Scale and coverage

  • Pan-India delivery at one execution pace, plus UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait
  • Branch branding delivery across India for IDFC Bank
  • Travelling installation crews rather than a different local vendor in each city
  • 15+ years of operating history under the same named leadership
  • Approved-vendor status with Adani Airports, HSBC, Reliance Retail, EPSON and Duravit

Whether it is an airside pass, a vacation window or a 200-branch programme, the constraint shapes the quotation. Describe it and we will scope against it.

Market Context

What the published data says

  • Retail leasing across India’s top seven cities reached a record 8.9 million sq ft in 2025, with Zudio alone moving from roughly 341 to 765 outlets across 235 cities in FY25. Rollout volume at that rate is what makes signage consistency a manufacturing problem rather than a design one. IBEF, Indian Retail Industry, updated February 2026
  • Public capital expenditure in the Union Budget 2026-27 rose to Rs. 12.22 lakh crore (US$ 135.8 billion), which sets the pipeline for the institutional sectors here: airports, metro, healthcare, education and port infrastructure. IBEF, Infrastructure Sector in India, updated February 2026
  • India’s office furniture market was valued at USD 6.26 Billion in 2025, forecast to USD 14.12 Billion by 2034 at an 8.48% CAGR. In corporate and co-working work, furniture is the line most often bought separately from the fit-out and the one most often mis-measured. IMARC Group, India Office Furniture Market, base year 2025

Questions Buyers Ask

Frequently asked questions

Which sectors does IBS work in?
Seven: aviation and airports, BFSI, healthcare, education, retail and consumer, hospitality, and corporate offices. Each has its own page describing the specific constraints, the materials and the named clients IBS has delivered for in that industry.
Can IBS work inside an active airport terminal?
Yes. IBS holds BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) clearance, the security vetting required for airside work in an Indian airport. It has delivered wayfinding signage and terminal branding for an Adani Airports property, covering both airside and landside areas.
How do you fit out a hospital that cannot close?
Ward by ward, in phases agreed with the facility’s operations team, with dust and infection-control barriers between the work zone and live areas. Services are isolated locally rather than at building level, and noisy activity is confined to windows the hospital sets.
What makes a bank branch rollout different from a single fit-out?
Repeatability. Any competent contractor can finish one branch well. The difficulty is site 140 matching site 1 after four months, which is a production and QC problem. IBS runs one production batch to one approved swatch and installs with travelling crews rather than local vendors.
Can education fit-outs be done inside a vacation window?
That is the normal way they run, because the term start does not move. The programme is built backwards from the reopening date, materials are ordered and delivered before the window opens, and labour is scaled to the window rather than to a comfortable schedule.
What is different about a retail fit-out?
The launch date and the landlord. Mall fit-out guidelines govern what can be built, how it is delivered and when, and the fascia usually needs landlord approval separately from municipal permission. The programme is compressed and the approval path is longer than an office.
Which named clients has IBS delivered for?
Adani Airports, HSBC, Reliance Retail, HDFC ERGO, HDFC Life, IDFC FIRST Bank, Godrej Finance, GroupM, WeWork, Canon, EPSON, Duravit, Aditya Birla Retail, Sagility, Accessorize and Society Tea. IBS is an approved vendor with several of them.
Does hospitality work need a different team?
The same in-house civil, MEP and joinery teams, with a different finish standard. Hospitality carries guest-facing finish quality on the front of house and heavy-duty durability behind it, and FF&E coordination is a larger share of the scope than in a corporate office.
What does IBS do about compliance in regulated sectors?
Work is built to NBC 2016 and the relevant IS codes as standard, with sector overlays on top: NABH-aligned detailing in healthcare, the airport operator’s signage manual in aviation, and fire-retardant grading where the terminal or mall envelope requires it.
Can IBS handle a rollout across several sectors at once?
Yes. A retail group with mall stores, high-street stores and a head office is one programme with three specifications, and it is run that way: one project lead, one production plan, separate approval tracks because the landlords and authorities differ.
How is sector experience actually evidenced?
By named client, stated scope and measured outcome, which is how the case studies are written. A contractor claiming sector experience without naming a project in it is claiming familiarity, not experience, and that is a fair question to put to any vendor including IBS.
Does IBS work outside India in these sectors?
IBS can scope new retail assignments in the Gulf, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Freight, customs, installation and local support are planned for each project.
Which sector is IBS strongest in?
On documented volume, BFSI branch rollouts and corporate office fit-outs, followed by aviation, where the BCAS clearance is a genuine barrier most contractors have not cleared. The case studies list the projects behind that, rather than leaving it as a claim.
What if my sector is not listed?
Describe the space, the constraint and the date. Most industrial, institutional and mixed-use work maps onto the same civil, MEP, joinery and signage scope; the sector pages exist because those seven have distinct constraints worth writing down, not because the list is exhaustive.
How early should a contractor be involved?
Before GFC drawings are frozen, ideally. Buildability and cost problems are cheap to fix on a drawing and expensive to fix on site, and access constraints in regulated sectors often change the design itself rather than just the programme around it.
