Airport Terminal Wayfinding & Signage — BCAS Clearance Project
BCAS-cleared. Airside and landside. In-house.
The Challenge
What the project needed to solve
BCAS Security Clearance Requirement
Airport terminal work — airside in particular — requires Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) clearance for all personnel and contractors on site. Most branding agencies cannot operate in this environment.
Operational Airport — Zero Disruption
The terminal remained fully operational during the signage installation. Every work window had to be coordinated with airport operations for safety and schedule compliance.
System Consistency Across All Zones
Wayfinding must function as a unified visual system — check-in, security, gate areas, retail, and landside pickup — with consistent typography, contrast ratios, and placement heights.
Our Approach
How Impulse Branding executed it
IBS's existing BCAS clearance meant no delays for security vetting — a common bottleneck for airports when engaging contractors without prior clearance.
The wayfinding system was designed to DGCA and ICAO wayfinding guidelines, with high-contrast colour coding and standardised mounting heights tested for visibility from 10 metres.
Installation was executed across controlled windows — early mornings and post-midnight — coordinated with Adani airport operations teams.

Project Outcome
Complete wayfinding and signage system installed and operational within the 8-week programme. Zero operational disruptions recorded. IBS is retained on the Adani Airports preferred vendor panel for subsequent projects.
