In Short

Channel letters are individually fabricated dimensional letters and logos, usually illuminated with internal LEDs. They come front-lit (glowing face), reverse/halo-lit (a glow thrown onto the wall behind), open-face, or non-lit. Impulse Branding Solutions fabricates channel letters in-house in Mumbai, metal and acrylic, every illumination format, for storefronts, fascia, and corporate identity across India and the Gulf.

Channel letters are the most recognisable form of brand signage, the dimensional, illuminated letters across a storefront or a building. They are also the most fabrication-dependent: the quality lives in the cleanness of the returns, the tightness of the trim cap, and how evenly the LEDs fill each letter. We fabricate every channel letter in-house at our Mumbai facility, bending, welding, face-fitting, LED assembly, and installation, so the things that separate sharp channel letters from cheap ones are ours to control. One contract covers design, fabrication, and pan-India installation.

What We Make

What types of channel letters does IBS fabricate?

Channel letters are defined by how they are lit and how they are built. We fabricate every format in-house, so a single sign can mix illumination styles or combine letters with a fabricated logo, all to one consistent standard.

Print Branding · Type 01

Front-lit Channel Letters

The classic illuminated letter: a metal return with an acrylic face and internal LEDs, glowing across the face.

  • Even face glow: calibrated LED fill and the right return depth eliminate dark spots within each letter
  • Trim cap or trimless: standard trim-cap construction or a clean trimless premium build
  • Best for: retail storefronts, mall fascia, brand identity that must read after dark

Print Branding · Type 02

Reverse / Halo-lit Channel Letters

A solid metal face mounted on standoffs with rear LEDs throwing a soft halo onto the wall behind.

  • Premium effect: an indirect, refined glow favoured for corporate and hospitality identity
  • Solid faces: brushed or painted metal faces for a high-end daytime look
  • Best for: corporate building identity, hotel lobbies, premium retail
Reverse / Halo-lit Channel Letters: Channel Letters, Impulse Branding Solutions

Print Branding · Type 03

Front + Back Lit (Combination)

Letters lit both through the face and as a halo for maximum presence.

  • Dual glow: face illumination plus a halo for a striking, high-impact identity
  • Best for: flagship stores, landmark fascia, high-competition retail frontages
Front + Back Lit (Combination): Channel Letters, Impulse Branding Solutions

Print Branding · Type 04

Open-face Channel Letters

Letters with exposed LED or faux-neon inside an open metal return for a retro, visible-light look.

  • Exposed light: a deliberate, expressive look with visible illumination
  • Best for: F&B, entertainment, and lifestyle brands wanting character
Open-face Channel Letters: Channel Letters, Impulse Branding Solutions

Print Branding · Type 05

Non-lit Built-up Letters

Fabricated dimensional letters and logos without illumination.

  • Dimensional, daytime: built-up metal or acrylic letters with a clean profile for interiors and shaded fascia
  • Best for: reception identity, interior brand walls, shaded or daytime-only fascia
Non-lit Built-up Letters: Channel Letters, Impulse Branding Solutions

Print Branding · Type 06

Fabricated Logos & Symbols

Custom dimensional logos and brand symbols fabricated to match the letter set.

  • Brand-accurate: logos and symbols fabricated and finished to match the channel-letter set and brand colours
  • Best for: combined logo-and-name fascia, building identity, reception walls
Fabricated Logos & Symbols: Channel Letters, Impulse Branding Solutions

Specification

Materials & standards we work to

Channel letters are a fabrication product first. We specify the right metals, faces, and LED systems, and control the build at our own facility so the returns, trim, and illumination are consistent.

Construction & metals

  • Returns: aluminium and stainless-steel returns, formed and welded for clean, consistent letter walls
  • Faces: acrylic faces for front-lit letters; brushed, painted, or stainless faces for reverse/halo-lit and non-lit builds
  • Trim: standard trim-cap or trimless premium construction selected for the finish required

Illumination & electricals

  • LED modules: named-brand LED modules (for example Cree, Osram, Nichia class) sized for even fill and colour consistency
  • Power supplies: reputed SMPS/drivers (for example Mean Well class) with headroom for reliability
  • IP-rated assembly: weatherproofed wiring and drainage for outdoor letters

Mounting & documentation

  • Fixings: flush, raceway, and standoff mounting with anchors appropriate to the facade substrate
  • Documentation: component and warranty pass-through details provided per engagement at handover

How We Deliver

From brief to handover.

A predictable, documented sequence from brief to handover, the same whether it is a single storefront or a national retail rollout.

  1. Brief & site survey

We capture brand artwork, fascia dimensions, and site conditions; a survey confirms facade substrate, power, and access.

  2. Design & proofing

Scaled production artwork, illumination format, and material recommendations, signed off before fabrication.

  3. In-house fabrication

Return forming, welding, face-fitting, LED and power assembly, and even-fill quality checks at our Mumbai facility.

  4. Installation

Our own team mounts, wires, and commissions the letters; outstation and multi-city jobs are co-ordinated centrally.

  5. Handover & warranty

Functional check, as-installed record, and warranty documentation with component pass-throughs.

Why Buyers Choose IBS

Built in-house. Owned outright.

Channel letters are everywhere, but quality varies enormously because so much depends on fabrication. Because IBS fabricates and installs in-house, the defects of outsourced channel letters, uneven LED fill, rough returns, loose trim, halo bleed, premature failure, are ours to control and ours to stand behind.

01

In-house fabrication

Bending, welding, face-fitting, and LED assembly at our own Mumbai facility: no job-work shops, so returns, trim, and light are controlled by us.

02

One contract, single accountability

Design, fabrication, and pan-India installation under one contract, with GST-compliant, TDS-ready billing.

03

BCAS-cleared for airport retail

Bureau of Civil Aviation Security clearance qualifies IBS for channel-letter and fascia work inside airport terminals, airside and landside.

04

Pan-India retail rollouts

Consistent channel letters across multi-store and multi-city retail programmes, fabricated and installed nationally from our facility, with Gulf-country delivery available.

How does in-house channel letter fabrication compare with a trading vendor?

Channel letters are a fabrication product, and a supplier who does not fabricate is passing the job on. Here is what that difference means for a retail rollout.

Sectors We Serve

Where this work lands.

Channel letters carry a brand on storefronts and buildings across every retail and commercial setting. The brief changes by sector, a QSR wants a warm, characterful frontage; a corporate HQ wants a restrained halo-lit identity; a mall tenant works to a strict fascia specification. We tailor format, material, and finish to each.

Commercials

How channel-letter engagements are structured

Every channel-letter engagement is quoted against a clear scope, letter heights, illumination format, materials, mounting, and installation locations, so there are no surprises between proof and handover.

Questions

Everything procurement heads, project managers, and marketing teams ask before commissioning

Cost & Billing

What does a set of channel letters cost in India?
Cost depends on letter height, illumination format, materials, quantity, mounting, and location. We issue a detailed, line-item quotation against your brief, share artwork and fascia sizes and we will provide a transparent quote. No fixed price is published because every set differs.

Timelines

How long do channel letters take to make?
Standard sets are project-planned with a clear timeline from artwork sign-off; large or multi-location rollouts are scheduled in phases. A confirmed timeline is given at quotation.

Warranty & Service

Can you repair or re-LED existing channel letters?
Yes. We re-LED, re-face, and refurbish existing channel letters, and can restandardise older sets to a current brand specification across locations.
Is there a warranty on channel letters?
Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on fabrication and finish, plus manufacturer warranty pass-throughs on LED modules and power supplies, documented at handover.

Comparisons

What is the difference between front-lit and halo-lit channel letters?
Front-lit letters glow through an acrylic face; reverse/halo-lit letters have a solid face and throw a soft glow onto the wall behind. Front-lit reads boldest; halo-lit is more refined and premium. We make both.

Rollouts & Sites

Can you handle multi-store retail rollouts?
Yes. We deliver consistent channel letters across multi-store and multi-city programmes with the same spec, illumination, and lead time per site.

Technical

What are channel letters?
Channel letters are individually fabricated dimensional letters and logos, usually with internal LEDs. They are the standard form of storefront and building brand signage and come in front-lit, reverse/halo-lit, open-face, and non-lit formats.
What are open-face channel letters?
Open-face letters have an open metal return with exposed LED or faux-neon inside, for a deliberate, expressive, visible-light look popular with F&B and lifestyle brands.
What materials are channel letters made from?
Aluminium or stainless-steel returns with acrylic or metal faces. Material and finish are chosen for the look, location, and budget.
Are the channel letters made in-house?
Yes. We form, weld, face-fit, and LED-assemble every letter at our own Mumbai facility, no outsourcing, which is how we control returns, trim, and even illumination.
Can channel letters be used outdoors?
Yes. With IP-rated electrical assembly, weatherproofed returns, and drainage, channel letters are built for outdoor storefronts and facades. We specify outdoor-rated builds.
How do you ensure even illumination inside each letter?
Through LED fill engineering: module type, spacing, and return depth tuned to the letter size, so there are no dark spots or hot spots across the face or halo.
What letter heights can you fabricate?
From small fascia letters to large building-identity letters; the construction and mounting are engineered to the height and facade. We advise the right build at quotation.
Can you match our brand colour and font exactly?
Yes. We fabricate to your exact letterforms and colour-match faces and returns to your brand specification, proofing before fabrication.
What LED and power components do you use?
Named-brand LED modules and reputed power supplies/drivers, sized with headroom, with manufacturer warranties passed through at handover.
Can you fabricate a logo or symbol to match the letters?
Yes. We fabricate dimensional logos and brand symbols finished to match the channel-letter set and brand colours.
How are channel letters mounted?
Flush, on a raceway, or on standoffs (for halo-lit), with anchors appropriate to the facade substrate. The survey confirms the right method.
Do you do trimless or premium channel letters?
Yes. We fabricate trimless premium builds for a clean, high-end finish, as well as standard trim-cap construction.
Do you do airport and mall fascia letters?
Yes. We fabricate and install fascia channel letters for malls and airport retail; IBS is BCAS-cleared for airport-terminal work, airside and landside.
What do you need from us to start?
Your brand artwork (vector preferred), the fascia dimensions or a photograph of the frontage, the locations, and the illumination preference. A site survey confirms substrate, power, and access.
Can you work with our architect, PMC, or mall management?
Yes. We work alongside architects, PMCs, and mall management, providing shop drawings and complying with fascia specifications and approval processes.
